Electronic Music Innovations

The Artist’s that I feel innovated new ideas that’s people never heard of was phenomenal group by the name Daft Punk. Daft Punk has a massive effect on not only the electronic music, but also genres like hip-hop. For example the electronic style of music inspired Hip-hop artist Kanye West with the sample from their single “Harder, Better. Faster, Stronger “from the Discovery album released in October 13,2001. As a kid, the single was very inspirational to me because of the robotic vocal performance, which was performed by Daft Punk themselves. The group created by French musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, they became popular in the late 1990’s movement in France. Daft Punk later started combining elements of house with Synthpop. Daft Punks funky electro feel brings life to any musical piece they’ve influenced. Another great example would be the final single on the Discovery album named” Something About Us”. This song to me gave a modern band by the name of “ Owl City” the innovations with their vocal robotic filter presentation resembles Daft Punks. Not only did the music sound futuristic for it’s time, it was somewhat of a foundation of where electronic music really started to become popularized. Being born in 1989 I was luckily born around the time Daft Punk was becoming more known. As a kid I would listen to hip-hop, rock, and pop. At the time there was a song that I loved. At the age of twelve I could determine whether music was good or wasn’t. A song that reminded me of Daft Punk is Modjo’s Lady (hear me tonight). A song I distinctly remember as kid was Daft Punk’s “ One More Time”, I loved that song with a passion.
